Which barcode should I choose?
EAN-13 is the code of products sold in Europe and worldwide, UPC-A its North American equivalent, EAN-8 its short version for small packages. Code 128 accepts letters and digits: ideal for stock, parcels or internal labels. ITF-14 is used on shipping cartons.
The check digit, calculated for you
The last digit of an EAN, a UPC or an ITF-14 is a check digit. Enter the number without it and the tool calculates it; enter it and the tool verifies that it is right.
For printing
The SVG stays sharp at any size: it is the best choice for a printer or layout software. Keep dark bars on a light background and a white margin around the code, or scanners will not read it. Products sold in shops need numbers assigned by GS1.
