Translate Morse code for free

Write a message to see it in Morse, or paste Morse to read it as plain text. Accented letters are brought back to their base letter, as in international Morse, and characters with no Morse equivalent are flagged rather than silently guessed at.

How Morse code works

Every letter is a sequence of dots and dashes. A dash lasts three times as long as a dot. A silence of one dot separates two signs of the same letter, three dots separate two letters, and seven dots separate two words — that's the rhythm the player reproduces.

Listen and practice

Play the message to hear it as beeps, letter by letter, and adjust the speed to train your ear. Then switch to the key and tap it yourself: a short press for a dot, a long press for a dash.
