Link and mail checker
Check a suspicious link, text message or email (.eml) for phishing and scam tricks: see where it really leads and spot fake websites, without opening anything.
Create a strong password or passphrase, or test how strong an existing one is, right in your browser.
Choose the length and the characters, or a passphrase, then copy the result.
Drawing a password in your browser…
Create a random password by choosing its length and the characters to use, or a passphrase that is easier to remember. Everything is drawn in your browser: the result is never sent to a server and never kept.
Length counts for more than complexity: every character added multiplies the number of possible combinations. Aim for at least 16 characters mixing letters, digits and symbols, and use a different password for every account.
A passphrase strings together several words drawn at random. It is easier to remember and to type, and stays solid from five or six words on. It suits the main password of a password manager well.
For a generated value, the gauge computes the entropy in bits from the length and the number of possible characters or words. For a password you type, it is an estimate that penalises common words, sequences such as abcd, 1234 or qwerty, and repetitions. What you type stays in your browser.
The strength checker further down estimates a password you already use, without generating a new one. It runs the same private estimate: nothing is sent or saved, even there.
No. The page holds no form that sends the value, no analytics on what it contains, and writes nothing to browser storage. Closing the tab is enough to leave nothing behind.
